Function Grapher and Visual Calculus have the ability of creating color map. Color map uses colors to indicate data values of the third dimension.
The following figure is a color map of function x=u, y=v, z=sin(u)*sin(v). Color red indicates the maximum value of z, and color blue indicates the minimum value of z.
